Tafeeda Jarbawi
Chairperson of the Board

Over 10 years, Dr. Tafeeda Jarbawi served as Director General of Taawon (Welfare Association), and has authored more than 40 publications in education, chemistry, development, sustainability, and women’s affairs. Her professional experience in development focuses on management, educational planning, teaching, and research.
Dr. Jarbawi earned her Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Cincinnati and served as professor and head of the Chemistry department at Birzeit University. She has assumed positions of visiting Fulbright Research Professor at theUniversity of Cincinnati and the University of Minnesota.She has also served as Director of UNRWA Ramallah Women’s College and Dean of Educational Science Faculty. Dr. Jarbawi’s contribution to the development of Palestine covers active membership on the boards of many organizations at the national, regional, and international level. These include the Higher Council for Vocational and Technical Education, Accreditation and Quality Assurance for Higher Education, The Palestinian Initiative for the Promotion of Global Dialogue & Democracy (MIFTAH), UNISCO-World Commission of the Ethics of Scientific Knowledge and Technology (COMEST), Bioethics Network on Women’s Issues in the Arab Region. Currently, she is serving as a board member in Bank of Palestine, Al-Quds University, and Taawon NGO.

Lily Feidy
Vice ChairPerson

Freelance Consultant. Formerly, assistant professor of Applied Linguistics at Birzeit University, director of the university’s International Relations Department. Also, served as CEO of MIFTAH. Dr. Feidy is active in a number of civil local and international organizations with focus on promoting education in Palestine, empowering youth and women, gender issues, human rights, good governance, accountability and integrity. Dr. Feidy holds a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics.

Refa’ Ramahi
Board Secretary

 An Associate Professor in Mathematics Education at Birzeit University. She  is currently dean of the Faculty of Education.  She was previously the Director of Academic Development Unit at Birzeit University, also she was the former  the Director of Master Program in Education and the Chairperson of Curriculum and Instruction Department at the Faculty of Education. She has many academic  educational publications.

Nakhleh Al Qare
Treasurer

 The Finance and Administration Manager at the Palestinian Museum Non-Governmental Association. He has extensive experience in finance, administration, procurement, and human resources management within non-profit organizations. Armed with extensive experience in collaborating with government entities, partners, and donors, Nakhleh earned both his master’s degree in economics and his bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minor in Finance from Birzeit University. 

Rania Maayeh
Board Member

A visionary leader with over 25 years of experience in the education field. From her early days as a dedicated educator, Rania’s journey led her to manage international education projects with notable NGOs. Today, she serves as the esteemed Head of Ramallah Friends School, driving academic excellence and innovation. Rania’s expertise extends to global advocacy, shaping education policies and fostering equitable access to quality learning.

 

Ghassan Amayra
Board Member

Director and Co-founder of MENA Catalyst Foundation. He navigated several careers as a development and trade expert, corporate intrapreneur & social entrepreneur. He is at the forefront of leading key initiatives to help foster innovation, sustainability, employment, and entrepreneurship in Palestine and across the MENA region.

Ghassan studied International Law and Economics at Bern University in Switzerland, Business Administration at Birzeit University in Palestine, and trade diplomacy at Malta University

Renad Qubbaj
Board Member

Ms. Renad Qubbaj has been the General Director of Tamer institute for Community Education since 2006. She completed her BA in Physics and Electrical Engineering and her Master degree in atomic Physics from Western Michigan University in 1993. She presented a number of papers in local, regional and international conferences including in Chile, Sweden, Denmark, United Arab Emirates, Lebanon and Norway. Among her papers was (Palestinain residence under occupation: Informal and Community-based education) in Mexico. Ms. Qubbaj is an activist for children’s rights and has been a member of different committees working on the subject. She is an active member in the UNESCO Palestinian Chapter on (Education for All) and a member of CCNGO. She is a jury member at different awards for children’s books in the Arab world.
